Dear Comrades,

Our Union 30^th All India Conference is going to be held at Shegaon, Maharasthra Circle from 17.04.2015 [CWC meeting] to 19.04.2015. Some of our Comrades and Circles are very eager to know the location details of Shegaon and the train route to reach the destination. We have given some information, photos and train route to your kind information. All Circles are requested to participate in the All India Conference in large number to discuss some important issues regarding the accounts cadre restructure, victimization of SBCO in the fraud cases and change of procedures after CBS implementation.

Shegaon is a town in the Buldana district of Maharashtra State. The city is on the Mumbai-Nagpur rail route via Bhusawal. Shegaon is best known for the Saint (Gajanan Maharaj) who lived here. The city is quite close to Aurangabad, Nagpur and Akola cities in Maharashtra. Much is not known about the childhood of Gajanan Maharaj. He seemed to have done many miracles. He was a Saint with a humanitarian heart. He lived till 1910 and was the contemporary of Shirdi Baba. He was a much revered saint in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra still possessing devotees in large number. The devotees have built a temple on his Samadhi in Shegaon and have set up a trust in his name. The temple is known as ‘Sant Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan’. The trust has set up a project called ‘Anand Sagar’ project providing space for meditation and entertainment. The project has built an artificial lake and a meditation center near the temple of Gajanan Maharaj.

Shegaon is also known as a big market for the cotton crop. Many ginning mills are still operational in Shegaon. Earlier these mills used to transport cotton to the textile mills in Mumbai in large quantity. Shegaon also hosts engineering manufacturing units, mineral water bottling units and oil mills. The city has well enough infrastructures to facilitate the educational requirements of the local area. The city has an Engineering College administered by the Gajanan Maharaj trust.

Shegaon is well connected by rail and road. It is on the Mumbai-Bhusawal-Nagpur rail line. Nagpur is the nearest airport to reach Shegaon. Some of the nearest cities to reach the place are: Akola, Aurangabad, and Amravati. The city is about 600 km away from Mumbai and 305 km from Nagpur.
